Come join survival expert Johan Skullman on a winter wilderness training course in Abisko!
Goal: The objective of the training course is to give you the basic knowlegde needed to safley travel in the backcountry during winter as well as managing potential emergency situations. The course will provide you with the skills you need to plan and execute winter tours of your own.
Curriculumn: The course will be conducted outdoors in the mountains where teoretical knowledge will be mixed with practical exercises. The following subjects will be covered, and the focus will be on bivouac camping:
- Basic theory on how and why you may end up in an emergency situation and how to mitigate it
- How to dig a snow bivouac, in which we will spend our nights
- Using winter equipment
- How you are effected by the cold and how to best protect yourself against it
- How to find and purify water
- Basic navigation in theory and practice, using a map and compass
Cost: 4900 kr

Date: 19/3 kl. 13.00 – 22/3 ca. kl. 16.00
Number of participants: Max 12 st (Min. 8 st)
Included: Breakfast (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), lunch (Friday, Saturday) and dinner (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), all cooked outdoors. Summation and conclusion with lunch and afternoon “fika” at Absiko Mountain Lodge on Sunday.

For who: This training course is ideal for people who like to learn the basics of survival in the winter wilderness and practice during winter conditions in the mountains under safe circumstances. Previous knowledge and experience of winter wilderness camping is not needed. However you should be able to ski in untracked terrain and be in physical shape to be active during extended periods of time.
